Did you know you can find out the creditworthiness of a potential customer online at Interstate Capital?

Interstate Capital maintains extensive credit records on our own experiences with tens of thousands of customers who have done business with our clients, past and present. In addition, we have quick access to credit reports on hundreds of thousands of businesses across North America. Establishing a customer’s creditworthiness is critical in these days of increasing business fraud. Business failures for all kinds of reasons have always been a fact of life in any economic cycle, but the Internet and crafty criminals have made today’s companies extra vigilant against fraud.


Each of your debtors (customers) is submitted for credit within ClientWeb. You can easily find out if your next customer is creditworthy right on ClientWeb. Here’s how to request a credit approval:

  • Select the “Data Entry” tab at the top of the screen
  • Click on “Credit Request Entry”
  • Enter the “Debtor’s Name”
  • Within the transportation industry, the quickest and easiest way to search for a particular debtor is not by name, but by Motor Carrier Authority number (or MC #). Enter the debtor’s MC number
  • Click “Next”

IF the name of the debtor in question appears at the top of the screen

  • Click on the circle to the left of the debtor’s name
  • Click “Next” at the bottom of the screen

IF the debtor’s name does NOT appear at the top of the screen, they could be a new debtor for ICC.

  • Select the circle next to “Not in the List” at the top of the screen
  • Enter the information in the boxes toward the bottom of the screen
  • Ref ID (the first four letters of the debtor’s name)
  • Business Name (full name of the company), Address, Phone Number, Email Address
  • (MC Number for transportation companies)
  • Click “Next” at the bottom of the screen

The next screen prompts for the amount of credit requested. It is recommended that the client request enough credit to cover invoices over a 45-day period. No other information is necessary, but if a credit request is made and needs a special consideration, you can make a note in the Comments section.

  • Fill in the “Requested Amount” (the amount that will appear on your invoice)
  • Click “Finish” to complete your Credit Request

Interstate Capital’s managers and our dedicated Credit Department work hard to protect our clients against doing business with customers with questionable credit histories. We don’t want you – or Interstate Capital – to get stuck with an unpaid bill for your hard work.
